416
Type 416 is a free-machining stainless steel with a high chromium content, known for its martensitic structure. It can be subjected to heat treatment to achieve increased strength and hardness. Applications for Type 416 include parts that
require extensive machinings, such as golf club heads, axles, gears, pinions, lead screws, and valve trim. However, it is not advisable to use Type 416 in vessels that handle high-pressure gases or liquids.
